Pre-2000 demolitions and strip-outs have a fixed legal starting point: an asbestos demolition survey. Skip it and any intrusive work risks turning a clean programme into a contaminated site.
Demolition asbestos removal handled by one team means no handover gap, no contractor disputes and no programme pause between clearance and the next trade. One survey, one RAMS pack, one fixed price.
Partitions, M&E and floors stripped to shell
Garages, sheds and extensions, same contract
Four clear stages take the job from survey to site clearance, with asbestos removed first so every trade behind it can work safely and legally.
An intrusive survey covering every part of the building the works will reach, producing a register that your structural engineer and principal contractor can use to build the programme around.
All identified materials are removed first under the correct work category. Where non-licensed asbestos removal applies, independent clearance testing is completed before any following trade is allowed to enter the zone.
Non-structural elements are stripped out and waste streams separated at source. Metals, timber, inert material and general waste are all routed differently to maximise recovery and keep the asbestos chain clean.
Agreed structures come down, all arisings are cleared, and a full documentation pack is issued covering the asbestos consignment chain and waste transfer notes for every other stream.
Asbestos clearance moves directly into strip-out without a pause for contractor handover.
A single RAMS pack, a single insurance certificate and one team responsible for the outcome.
Asbestos consigned separately, recyclables recovered, transfer notes produced for every stream.
Each element priced separately so the budget is visible and expenditure can be staged.
FAQS
A soft strip takes out everything that is not structural, including ceilings, partitions, finishes and services, leaving the frame and shell standing. Demolition brings the structure itself down. We carry out both, but on any pre-2000 building neither can lawfully begin until the asbestos survey and removal phases are complete.
Our demolition work covers smaller structures such as garages, outbuildings, single-storey extensions and internal structures, alongside full soft strips of larger buildings. For major structural demolition projects we work as the asbestos removal and strip-out phase within the wider programme of a principal contractor.
No. Management surveys are carried out without intrusive inspection by design, so they cannot confirm what is inside voids, risers and concealed areas. An asbestos demolition survey of the affected areas is the legal requirement, and we can usually scope it quickly from your existing documentation and drawings.
Work in that zone stops immediately, the material is sampled and a fixed variation is priced and confirmed with you in writing before anything proceeds. That is the only defensible way to handle genuinely concealed material, and it is why our teams are asbestos-trained rather than drawn from general labour.
Inert material is directed to recovery wherever the volumes make it viable, and metals and timber are separated at source throughout. Asbestos is never combined with any other waste stream. Contaminated mixed loads are turned away at the gate and become a costly problem for everyone involved, which is why separation is absolute on every job we run.
Fixed, per phase, after the survey. Asbestos removal, soft strip and demolition are each quoted as separate line items so you can see clearly where the budget is going and choose to stage the expenditure if that suits the programme.
Once the asbestos demolition survey is complete and the price accepted, mobilisation is typically a matter of days. Where NNLW notification applies, that statutory lead time is incorporated into the programme from the start rather than discovered as an obstacle once planning is underway.
The method comes first. Dust suppression, agreed working hours, protected boundaries, and a clear position on party-wall notices wherever structures adjoin are all established before a single bar is swung. Kent has no shortage of tightly packed terraced streets and urban sites, and working respectfully within them is simply part of how we operate.
We carry out asbestos removal across Kent, from office and commercial strip-outs in Maidstone and Canterbury to garage and outbuilding demolitions in the residential districts and rural-fringe properties across the county. One survey, one programme, one fixed price wherever the job sits.
