Before anyone from our team sets foot on your property, they hold current UKATA certification that covers the specific category of work being carried out. UKATA is the body the Health and Safety Executive recognises as the UK's leading asbestos training authority.
Certification is granted externally and must be renewed on a regular basis. It is not a plaque on a wall that was earned once and forgotten about. Operatives carry their cards on every job and will produce them on request without hesitation.
Our CHAS assessment provides independent confirmation that our health and safety policies, risk assessment processes and legal obligations meet the standards expected by local authorities, housing associations and commercial procurement teams.
Crucially, this is not a one-time exercise. An external assessor reviews our entire operation each year, so the accreditation reflects how we work right now, not how we worked when we first applied.
SafeContractor runs entirely separately from CHAS but assesses many of the same core areas, covering policies, documentation and procedural compliance. It is widely recognised across the UK construction and facilities management sectors.
Holding both accreditations means that regardless of which procurement framework your organisation operates under, there is already an independent health and safety review sitting behind our name.
Every job we carry out falls under the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012. Where work requires licensed asbestos removal or falls under notifiable non-licensed arrangements, the enforcing authority is informed before we begin.
Risk assessments and method statements are produced for every removal we undertake, and our procedures are updated in line with regulatory changes as they happen rather than when it happens to be convenient.
Every Kent Asbestos job, whether domestic or commercial, is covered by £10m public liability and £10m employer liability insurance as standard. Certificates can be provided before work begins and are regularly requested by landlords, managing agents and principal contractors as part of their pre-start requirements.

Absolutely. Cards are on every job and produced on request without any fuss. If you would like certification sent across ahead of the visit, ask when you book and it will come with your quotation. Any asbestos removal contractors who are uncomfortable with that question are telling you something important.
Yes, always. We send both liability certificates on request before any agreement is in place. For commercial clients they are included as a matter of course in every pre-start documentation pack.
Both schemes independently assess asbestos health and safety competence, but they operate separately and are recognised by different procurement networks. Carrying both means our standards have been verified by two separate bodies, so whichever framework your organisation works within, we are already covered.
Yes. Non-licensed and notifiable non-licensed removal is handled directly by our own UKATA-trained teams. Where the material identified requires a fully licensed contractor, that element is managed under the correct HSE-licensed arrangements, all within the same fixed contract. You will know which category applies before you commit to anything, because it is confirmed in writing at survey stage.
